Conference held by Anne Dorthe, Attorney at Law, during the seminar “Update of the clients’ data: how to proceed while coordinating the Anti-Money Laundering Act (LBA), Data Protection Act (LPD) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)”

During this seminar held at the Kempiski Hotel in Geneva on November 25, 2019, Anne Dorthe, Attorney at Law, gives a lecture on the following subject-matter: “How do the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Data Protection Act (LPD) and Schengen Data Protection Act (LPDS) impact clients settled abroad?”

Within this framework, she addresses the following issues:

In which cases do the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Data Protection Act (LPD) and Schengen Data Protection Act (LPDS) apply?

Which law is more favourable to the protection of the clients’ personal data: the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act (LPD) or the Schengen Data Protection Act (LPDS)?

Should the client reside both in Switzerland and in a European State: where and how must data be collected?

Should the client leave Switzerland to settle in a European State: what are the consequences as regards the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act (LPD)?

GDPR and European structures: does a transfer of structures in Switzerland lead to the non-application of the GDPR?
