Me Anne Dorthe was invited by the Association des agents d’affaires brevetés du canton de Vaud (AAB) (https://aab-vaud.ch/) (Association of the licensed administrators of the Canton of Vaud) to give a conference on “Data protection” at its annual general meeting at the Lausanne Palace.
Me Anne Dorthe took the opportunity to talk about the challenges of data protection. She explained the basic concepts and outlined the main changes linked to the new Data Protection Act (FADP), which came into force on September 1, 2023.
She suggested certain measures to be put in place within licensed administrators’ law firms. She presented a procedure that can be put in place to deal with access requests that said licensed administrators and their collaborators might receive. Me Anne Dorthe went on to discuss possible data protection procedures (civil, administrative and criminal).
She concluded her presentation with a selection of recent case law.
